I would not do that on FSL lace designs though, especially one that is this dense with only a water soluble stabilizer. But if it works for you, that's awesome. It will likely work well with the gift tags.
Suggestion: Another way to stabilize multiple designs is to use a basting stitch around each design in the larger hoops.
