Thanks for the questions! Some have a lot of variables and are dependent on the personality of your machine. Generally, you always want the thread to come off flat without twisting. On most machines. that's a vertical spool pin. We recommend a 90/14 Topstitch needle for all of our metallics. https://www.sulky.com/catalog/items/o... Sulky bobbin thread or Sulky prewounds. Loosen your top tension a couple of numbers. Slow down. Sewer's Aid if you experience breakage on the needle and maybe the thread spool. https://www.sulky.com/item/sewers-aid... But that's unusual.
