If the user does not have a Google account they will not be able to participate in the Live Chat. It’s important to note that they don’t need a G-mail account to create a Google account. However, some people are paranoid and don’t want to have anything to do with Google. They will be able to watch but cannot Chat/interact.
To participate...you’ll need to create a Google account. Check out their step-by-step guide here to create your account and prepare you for the next step. You don’t need to setup a G-mail account to have a Google account! Here’s a helpful tip from Google Account Help:
