If you mean will Heat-Away behave like a heavy water soluble for free-standing lace designs, then the answer would be no. It is not heavy enough, and the other issue could be that even if you were to use several layers, the iron would not be able to necessarily get into the stitched area and create enough heat to make the Heat-Away ball up. If you were to do just embroidery on it that was not digitized for free-standing, it would just be a pile of threads when the Heat-Away (or any water soluble was used). You could do embroidery designs on a light-weight, sheer fabric, like perhaps organza on Heat-Away, but you would need to test the organza to be sure that it could withstand the needed heat of the iron to remove the Heat-Away.
