The lightest weight Sulky Solvy will serve you well to keep the nap down on the blanket. You can use Sulky KK 2000 Temporary Spray Adhesive to hold it in place or cut it large enough to allow you to safely pin it around where the design will name will be embroidered. I like to use the basting stitch for this kind of thing to secure the Solvy well, if you don't want to use the KK 2000. Embroider, and you can likely pull away all the excess Solvy without rinsing or wetting the blanket. If there are little bits of the Solvy left in some open areas of the letters, you can usually just pull those out with a tweezers. Or you can dampen a paper towel and place it over the name and iron it dry which will lift any bits remaining. (Be sure your blanket fabric and thread will tolerate the heat of an iron.)
