What is the best method to remove water soluble topper from designs stitched on velvet?

If it's the lightest weight Solvy you can usually just pull it away. If there are some bits stuck in the design, you can place a damp paper towel over the bits, and use just the tip of your iron to "dry" the damp towel, which any bits will then cling to. Be careful not to touch the velvet with the iron. Of course, if it's a washable velvet you can wash it, but that's rarely necessary.
