Is my small 4 x 4 hoop adequate for this session and kit?

Ellen's at Quiltcon in CA, but I asked her and she replied:
No it is not. Only if they use the frame designs (bonus designs) and build their own, which is covered in one of the lessons. But the “main” 6 designs are for 5x7 hoops.
