I asked Ellen this and she said:
I did, and fused the stabilizer to the whole piece, so when the pocket is folded there’s actually two layers of stabilizer in there along with the interfacing. This makes for a very stiff pocket so there is no sagging from use.
But you could also fuse a square just to the half of the pocket with embroidery, but interface the whole rectangle, and that would suffice I’m sure.
