If it’s a cross-stitch design that she’s trying to transfer, there’s really no way to line up the squares perfectly with the cloth. Some cross-stitch charts are measured for the exact count, but even with that it would be difficult to make that happen. I really recommend the stamped cross-stitch method for fabrics that aren’t Aida for that reason.
If it’s a line-art drawing, then I suppose it doesn’t matter where the needle goes as long as the stitches are consistent in length for the most part.
So...bottom line, you would be better off using a high quality fabric to transfer the design via Sulky Stick 'n Stitch. If you decide to use this product, I strongly recommend you do not buy this on Amazon. There has been lots of vendors selling counterfeit Stick 'n Stitch on there. Also, Amazon commingles product in their warehouse, so you could still get it even if it's a trusted vendor there. Feel free to contact me at info@sulky.com if you'd like to discuss this further.
