You’re both correct. I designed the Alexandrite pattern before I fully understood its properties. Alexandrites are actually color-change gems. They appear bluish-green (teal) during the day and cherry red in the evening. That’s why they call Alexandrites “emeralds by day and rubies by night.”
I’ve since created a color chart that is on my Resource page that provides new colorways for those who want to do one or the other more appropriate colorway. I do not have PBS Fabric kits for these. Here’s the link:
