If it is made for sewing and has a backing, but that's just a maybe. The cork we use, and the cork that is supplied by www.sallietomato.com for our kits, is a very high quality cork that will survive the huge number of needle penetrations with these designs. If you're doing just an outline design (like a redwork design for instance), a lesser quality cork would probably work well. But it may not for these designs. However, if you've already purchased the cork, test it and see how it holds up. Sallie Tomato sells the cork from her site, too, if we run out of kits.
