The most popular stabilizer for handwork is Sulky Stick 'n Stitch. It is a water soluble stabilizer that you can print on, on a printer or copy machine. I has a release sheet that peels off after printing and then it smooths onto your fabric - no hoop needed, but optional. Rinses away, pattern and all when done.
It may not be the best choice for Aida cloth though, since it would be very challenging to match the pattern to the Aida holes. In that case, Sulky Soft 'n Sheer is often used. There is an iron-on version of this as well, but might make needling more challenging.
I strongly recommend that you do not buy Sulky Stick 'n Stitch on Amazon. There are too many counterfeit products for this brand on their site.
