It is the same fabric. The only difference between these two kits (serger & sewing) is the amount of thread you get and the type of needles.

There are actually 5 kits to choose from, technically:
You can buy the Embroidered Lounge Pants Kit OR they can also or instead buy the Copycat Leggings Kit in two colorways to choose from and two "types"-sewing or serger. The Copycat Leggings Kit goes with the Copycat Leggings content, which is a bonus video within this Session. But it also contains a 2-yard fabric cut (in a different substrate) so would work for the Lounge Pants as well.
There is no fabric cut that is sold separate/alone. They all come with thread and the Copycat kits come with needles while the Embroidered kit comes with stabilizer.
