I've included a diagram of the difference between A, L and M bobbins. I would absolutely wind an extra one, just in case. You don't want to run out of bobbin thread if it can be avoided. But with most machines, you can still wind a 3rd bobbin if you need one, with the design still hooped, although you may need to remove the hoop from the machine to do so, but you'll have to that at some point anyway to replace the first bobbin.
