I'm so sorry, it does require a 6 x 10 hoop. But...if you come across a mug rug design that fits in your machine, or even a set of coasters, you could use that adorable fabric for that. Or any project really.

After further research, I discovered that you can also make a couple of projects in the mystery box from that fabric that do not require machine embroidery:
