Yes, as long as it has been stored properly - away from dampness, direct heat, etc. I addressed this question a few years ago to our manufacturing partner, Gunold, and they said: "To the best of our knowledge the Sulky thread is still useable after 20 years or more. If it is sitting on the shelf, reasonably protected in a box , nothing will destroy the fibre or influence the runnability. If the thread is exposed to sunlight, drastic temperature changes or humidity changes it will have a negative effect - how much is a question of the exact
circumstances. I don't know a single case where a customer had to inform us that he had to throw thread away because of age."
