is this type of needle suitable for viking sewing machine , the needle I use are flat on the back.

Absolutely. Both Ellen March and I have Viking Epic 2's and those are the only needles we use. I really love the Organ brand needle. I had always used Schmetz before I discovered the Organ brand - both are excellent needles. All the needles have the flat backs except for those made especially for some sergers or some long-arm machines.
